Why do macadamia nuts cost so much?

Why do macadamia nuts cost so much?

Why do macadamia nuts cost so much?

This weeks featured video discusses and analyses the many factors and variables that have made macadamia nuts the most expensive nuts in the world.

And it’s an interesting story with quite some history…

So, as it turns out, much of the expense is in the harvesting and processing. And this is where http://macadamiadehuskers.co.za can really help you.

Macadamia Dehuskers produce all the machinery required to process harvested macadamia nut yields. Right here in South Africa. Where their decades of macadamia farming experience has culminated in the factory situated conveniently in macadamia heaven – the KZN South Coast. Lower South Coast really – in Marburg, just outside of the picturesque sub-tropical coastal town of Port Shepstone.

The factory will be back in full swing at the end of lockdown in a few weeks, and the team is chomping at the bit to get back to schedule.

If you would like to pop in some time and see the macadamia but machinery being manufactured, you can find directions and contact details on our contact page.

Otherwise, we would love to come out to your farm for a visit. And then to analyse your requirements. And design a custom solution just for what you are planning to do.

This gallery is made of installations and machinery that Macadamia Dehuskers have set up for clients, down in the Munster area. This area has experienced a welcome transformation of the beautiful KZN landscape from sugar cane and gum, to picturesque macadamia plantations. Which although not indigenous – look a lot better, and are also easier on the environment.

Video: top-performing macadamia farms

Video: top-performing macadamia farms

Welcome back to Macadamia Dehuskers. We have found another in-depth macadamia farming video on YouTube (featured below), that we are sure you will appreciate as much as we did.

It’s rather scientific, analytical and mathematic as so many factors are examined and discussed – in extreme depth and detail. Macadamia farming is highly technical at all levels of production! But it seems, that the end-result of the analysis, is that attention to detail, at all of the production levels, wins out every time.

Enjoy the video…

Macadamia Dehuskers are standing by in South Africa to answer any questions or queries regarding the macadamia dehusking equipment and machinery that we produce and sell.

We are situated down on the Hibiscus Coast – aka – the KZN South Coast. Marburg in the Port Shepstone area, to be exact. Our contact page has a map with all our details too.

The lower south coast of KZN has been well planted with macadamia trees – so much prettier than the sugar cane and timber plantations it replaced! And all round so much better for the delicate coastal environment.

If you are farming macadamias at the moment, or plan to – and you are looking into machinery and equipment to streamline your production process, please do not hesitate to get in touch. We will come out and see you on your farm or facility, check out your operation, and advise – and then design, a custom application perfect for your requirements.

Video: what macadamia farming machinery do you have?

Video: what macadamia farming machinery do you have?

The Australian Macadamia Channel on YouTube is chockablock with macadamia farming video content. They have a few hundred videos posted. And we are going to use these to learn from and educate with.

The Australian macadamia farming scene started way back in history. In the stone-age times actually. Where macadamia nuts were foraged for along the North East coast, in the tropical rain forests.

From Google…

Macadamia is a genus of four species of trees indigenous to Australia, and constituting part of the plant family Proteaceae. They are native to northeastern New South Wales and central and southeastern Queensland. “

Ok, so the video…very informative run down of all that is required to run a successful mac operation…

It wasn’t long before macadamia production took root in South Africa. Where our climate matches that of the areas where macadamias come from in the first place.

Macadamia farming machinery in South Africa

The South African macadamia farming scene has really flourished since the literal abolishment of sugar cane. Farmers here are also foregoing paper tree plantations – for the most expensive nut worldwide, that money can buy.

Fields of green ugly sugar cane are completely replaced by neat rows of pretty little macadamia trees. The KZN South Coast and other macadamia farming areas around South Africa are all the more beautiful for it.

Eldor Engineering have been both farming macadamia nuts and producing macadamia farming machinery, down south, for decades. And this experience is built right into all the machines they produce.

Please use our contact page to get in touch, and we will arrange to come out and see you on your farm or premises. To evaluate your needs, and to design a fully custom installation to suit you and your operation.
